Aziz Ki bags three major awards

Young Africans star Stephane Aziz Ki, who was previously linked with a move to one of the Soweto giants, bagged three major awards this week.

The player was presented with the Tanzania Premier League's Most Valuable Player (MVP) prize at a glistening awards ceremony that took place in Masaki, Dar es Salaam.

Aziz Ki caught the attention of many clubs around the continent, including South Africa's Orlando Pirates, with his impressive displays throughout the 2023/24 campaign, during which he scored 21 league goals as his side won 26 of their 30 matches to lift the league title.

The Burkinabe's teammate Ibrahim Hamad was handed the league's Best Defender award.

In addition to being named the league's MVP, Aziz Ki was also named the Best Player as well as the Best Midfielder of the CRDB Federation Cup.

With the new campaign fast approaching, the attacking midfielder seems to have picked up where he left off, netting a brace in Yanga's 4-0 thumping of Kaizer Chiefs in a pre-season encounter last weekend.

The 28-year-old was also linked with Rulani Mokwena's Wydad Athletic Club, with it being claimed that he was the South African's priority target when the tactician first arrived at the side last month.

The Tanzanian outfit have, however, confirmed their intention to keep a hold of the Burkina Faso international ahead of the new season.

Aziz Ki will be hoping he can replicate the form he showed over the course of the last campaign to help Yanga retain their title and be as successful as possible in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.
