KickOff can reveal that Kaizer Chiefs are now in pole position to sign defender Thabang Matuludi from Polokwane City.
Chiefs have already signed defender Miguel Inacio from Angola to bolster their defence for this season.

Inacio joins Fiacre Ntwari, Gaston Sirino and Bongani Sam as new signings for the club.
Amakhosi are now looking to add Matuludi to their squad and are believed to have intensified their bid to sign the Rise and Shine defender.
According to a source close to Polokwane City, the club has finally agreed to allow the Bafana Bafana international to leave the club and seek greener pastures elsewhere.
The player is also believed to be on the wanted list of Stellenbosch FC, but sources reveal he is likely to end up at Naturena.
"The chairman has finally agreed to let Oswin Appollis and Thabang Matuludi go. He had a meeting with the players and is now ready to allow them to go," said the source.
Despite his obvious talent, Matuludi is currently walking around with the 'unlucky' tag having scored an own goal in an MTN8 quarterfinal encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns on the weekend, which saw his side lose 1-0 after extra time.
Meanwhile, Appollis is set to join Algerian side MC Alger after Polokwane City reportedly accepted the offer from them.
