Tshwane giants SuperSport United are on a bit of a low as the start of the Betway Premiership season edges closer, that's according to those who are close to the club's dealings.
SuperSport are believed to be experiencing several financial setbacks, amongst other issues.
At the centre of the club's current crisis is not being able to sign players they want and having to rely on the free agents market.

"The club is on a bit of a low. They still don't have tracksuits or [a] kit, they had to wear last season's stuff for the MTN8 game last week. Technical sponsor Umbro is saying SuperSport United took too long to sign the contract, and the contract is just for this season, " a source tells KickOff.
"There is no money for signings. They wanted Brian Onyango, but he is joining Stellenbosch FC."
The club that was previously largely known as cup specialists has now turned into a selling team as they continue to lose their best talent to rival clubs.
Financial crises are believed to be the main reason Matsatsantsa have been failing to keep some of their best players.
Ronwen Williams, Denis Onyango, Grant Kekana, Aubrey Modiba, Kegan Johannes, Teboho Mokoena, Sipho Mbule, Thapelo Maseko, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Thalente Mbatha, Selaelo Rasebotja and Patrick Maswanganyi are some of the country's top talents that the club couldn't keep.
In the Bafana Bafana team that finished third in this year's Africa Cup of Nations, Hugo Broos' squad had seven players who, at one stage, have worn the Blue and White jersey.

The finances of most clubs across the league and the in the Motsepe Foundation Championship are currently stuttering.
Hence, there's been a constant change of ownership.
Local clubs are effectively reliant on cash injections from their owners to survive, and despite Betway's recent injection via a R900 million sponsorship of the elite division, PSL chairman Irvin Khoza has reiterate the call for clubs to "fend for themselves".
