In the wake of Julian Alvarez's departure, Manchester City have now reportedly agreed a deal to sign a new striker who looked destined to join another club in Europe.
The Citizens have agreed personal terms with 19-year-old attacker Divin Mubama, effectively hijacking his move to Portuguese outfit FC Famalicao, according to Football Insider.

It is claimed the reigning Premier League champions will also pay West Ham United – his previous club before he became a free agent in July – a compensation fee in the area of £1.5 million (R34 million).
This comes after Mubama rejected the Hammers' offer of new terms, resulting in the forward becoming a free agent when his contract ran out in June.
It is believed that talks to secure the player's signature accelerated after two of Pep Guardiola's attackers at the Emirates recently sustained injuries.
The Spanish tactician has confirmed that Norwegian star Oscar Bobb suffered an injury during training that could see him being sidelined for potentially three or four months.
New signing Savinho, meanwhile, was taken off during the Citizens' 2-0 victory over Chelsea in their opening Premier League encounter of the season on Sunday.
Following that game, the manager stated that the 20-year-old experienced "some disturbance in the knee", but also insisted it was "not a big problem".
As a result, the Manchester-based side's recruitment team are believed to view Mubama as a long-term prospect, but he could also be thrown into the first team set-up from the get-go.
The striker – who was the top scorer in West Ham's 2023 FA Youth Cup triumph – is said to have attracted much interest from a number of teams in Europe, but reportedly views a move to City as the best step for his development.
