'Dan Dance' urges boss to sign ex-Chiefs player

Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela has given his blessings to the club's chairman, Abram Sello, to whip out his cheque book and sign Kamohelo Mahlatsi.

The man famously known as 'Dan Dance', who will be steering the Gallants ship this season following their return to the Betway Premiership, has asked the club to sign the former Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows midfielder by the end of this week.

Malesela is not willing to take chances as he feels the player perfectly suits his style of play.

Mahlatsi, currently a free agent, is training with Bahlabane Ba Ntwa following his not-so-successful six-month stay at Chippa United last season.

He only managed 11 appearances under co-coaches Thabo September and Kwanele Kopo.

Prior to that, he was on the books of Kaizer Chiefs, where he failed to adapt and never really nailed down a starting berth following his big move from Moroka Swallows in 2022.

Gallants mentor Malesela has confirmed his interest in the 25-year-old.

"Mahlatsi, he is training very well. I don't know whether the office has concluded in signing him or not because they are currently busy with the signings of these players," he confirmed, speaking to KickOff

"They haven't told me yet if they have concluded his signing, but he is still here training with us, and ja, he is what we looking for."

The top-flight returnees, albeit via the boardroom door, have their first match of the season against Kaizer Chiefs on 14 September at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
