An African star went missing after seemingly setting off for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification duty, but his strange absence has now been explained.
Timothy Ouma was not in the squad as expected when Kenya played out a goalless draw with Zimbabwe in their opening Group J encounter on Friday.

The club that the 20-year-old represents, Swedish outfit IF Elfsborg, had announced in a social media statement that the player would be going off to represent his country prior to the current international break.
However, the attacking midfielder was absent from the national team, and is also expected to miss the Harambee Stars' clash against Namibia on Tuesday night too.
However, Elfsborg manager Stefan Andreasson has since explained that Ouma had been given some time off for personal reasons.
"We gave him time off from the Sunday before the national team meeting to go home and sort out some personal matters, and then come back to us after the national team break," the coach told Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen, per Pulse Sports.
Andreasson went on to explain that the Allsvenskan outfit cannot be blamed for the player not showing up for international duty.
"What has happened in the discussions between Timothy and Kenya is not our issue… We have been in contact, and he is on his way back here fairly soon."
It has further been claimed the Kenyan's club blocked his potential move to another European side, which is said to have unsettled the attacking midfielder.

The 20-year-old's transfer situation is said to have upset him, and may have contributed to his failure to respond to his national side's call to represent them.
