One of the top coaches at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, who was previously linked with the Kaizer Chiefs job, has revealed that he has received offers from South Africa in recent months.
Former Nigeria national team coach Jose Peseiro has confirmed that there was genuine interest in his services from teams in South Africa.

The Portuguese mentor has been without a job since parting ways with the Super Eagles after guiding them to a silver-medal finish at the 2023 AFCON in February.
After the tournament, Peseiro was linked with the then-vacant Chiefs job, but the Soweto giants ultimately opted to appoint former AS FAR boss Nasreddine Nabi instead.
Peseiro recently attended the CAF Coaches Symposium in Ivory Coast, where he revealed that he was also in discussions with Mamelodi Sundowns.
"I am waiting for an opportunity that will suit me perfectly," the 64-year-old, who is still teamless, told SABC Sport.
"There have been offers from South Africa, Europe and Brazil, but so far nothing concrete has really convinced me.
"Regarding Sundowns, there have been discussions, but nothing special so far."
Peseiro also added that he actively scouted Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali and roped him into the Nigeria national team fold.
He said: "I like to scout and follow potential players before making a decision. I personally go there to assess their potential, as I did with Nwabali."
Nwabali was a top performer at AFCON 2023, keeping four clean sheets in seven games at the continental tournament, although he missed out on the Golden Glove, which was awarded to Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.

Peseiro lasted just 22 games for the Super Eagles, registering 11 wins, four draws, and seven defeats, according to Transfermarkt.
