A former Real Madrid superstar is reportedly in negotiations over a deal that could see him make a surprise move to one of Africa's biggest sides.
Sergio Ramos became a free agent after spending the 2023/24 campaign at Sevilla, the club at which he first began his professional football career.

During his second stint with the LALIGA outfit, the 38-year-old showed that he still possesses the abilities to compete at a high level, making 37 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing one assist too.
With him currently searching for a new club, previous reports had suggested that the Spaniard was close to joining newly-promoted Saudi Pro League outfit Al Orobah, but it now seems as though he could be heading elsewhere.
According to football agent Omar Zaalouk, Egyptian giants Zamalek are now in talks to sign the veteran centre-back.
"I am responsible for several matters related to Zamalek, such as the signing of Sidy Ndiaye and Jamal Mutyaba," Zaalouk said while speaking to OnTime Sports, per KingFUT.
"Ali Hisham Nasr, the club's marketing official, contacted me about the possibility of negotiating with Sergio Ramos.
"I reached out to Sergio Ramos' brother, Rene, who is also his agent, to negotiate a transfer to Zamalek.
"Ramos did not object to playing in the Egyptian Premier League.
"The talks haven't ended, but negotiations have been temporarily put on hold until the end of the CAF Super Cup [in which Zamalek will play against Al Ahly on Friday night].
"Zamalek made an official offer to sign Ramos, but he requested a higher financial amount than what was offered, so we are trying to reach a middle ground.
"For the record, the financial difference isn't large, and the chances of completing the deal are 50/50.
"I don't know if Zamalek will handle the deal alone or if business people who love the club will get involved, but for now, the deal isn't closed, and it's very possible it could be completed after the Super Cup."
