Retired footballer Mthokozisi Yende has opened up about his arrival at Kaizer Chiefs where he spent three seasons between 2009 and 2012.
Yende arrived at Chiefs in 2009 with heavy expectations, having impressed at their previous side University of Pretoria. He donned jersey number 10, made vacant by the exit of fan favourite Scara Ngobese, adding more pressure.

However, Yende would make just 53 appearances for Amakhosi before he was loaned to Maritzburg United for a season in 2012 and was officially released by Chiefs in 2013, later joining Free State Stars on a free transfer.
Speaking recently on the Nedbank Uncovered Podcast, Yende said he still had fond memories of his time at Chiefs.
"As soon as you walk in at Kaizer Chiefs, you see that it is a different world, in terms of soccer and your career turning a different direction," the former midfielder said.
"Because even the air you breathe, you can feel that's different, ayifani.
"It's also different you play for Kaizer Chiefs and when you play for Orlando Pirates, it's different. It's not a debate, it's just a feeling you have that when you play for Chiefs it is different than when you play for Pirates.
"One day, maybe you will ask one of the legends who played for both teams what is the difference. I don't know how to put it, I don't know how to explain it, but if you have been there you will know what I am talking about.

"It was a great move and I still cherish it and having to meet the chairman, Mr. Kaizer Motaung, and sit on the round table with him.
"It doesn't happen to anyone – the select few get to meet those kind of people.
"So in hindsight, I can say it is something amazing to play for Kaizer Chiefs."
