The Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) have broken their silence on the situation involving Nigeria, who have been stranded at an airport in Libya.
The Super Eagles were scheduled to face Libya in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Tuesday night, just days after the two nations faced off in Nigeria.
However, the Nigerian team were stranded in Al Abraq Airport, two hours away from their original destination ahead of Tuesday's match.

After being stranding in Al Abraq since Sunday, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong confirmed the team will not be honouring their fixture and will head back to Nigeria.
CAF have now confirmed that the matter has now referred to the Disciplinary Board for investigation.
"The Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) has been in contact with the Libyan and Nigerian authorities after it had been informed that the Nigerian National Football Team (''Super Eagles'') and their technical team were stranded in disturbing conditions for several hours at an airport that they were allegedly instructed to land by the Libyan authorities," CAF said in a statement.
"The matter has been referred to the CAF Disciplinary Board for investigation and appropriate action will be taken against those who violated the CAF Statutes and Regulations.
