Orlando Pirates moved to the top of the Betway Premiership table with a 2-0 victory over SuperSport United on Tuesday evening.
Mohau Nkota, who impressed in the loss to Magesi FC on Saturday, made his first start of the season while Makhehleni Makhaula, Patrick Maswanganyi, Evidence Makgopa and Thalente Mbatha were recalled to the starting line-up.
After a disappointing outing on Saturday, Thabiso Sesane redeemed himself after two minutes and delivered a long ball over the top for a charging Makgopa to scoop past Ricardo Goss for his third league goal of the season.
Former Pirates winger Vincent Pule came close to even matters a couple of minutes later through a well-struck swerving effort from a decent distance, but Sipho Chaine made a stop.
Pule had the ball in the back of net before the half-hour mark with a close-range but the celebrations were cut short due to the offside flag.
Nkota aimed an audacious effort from range after sporting Goss off his line a little later, but the youngster unfortunately dragged narrowly wide.
In the second half, Pirates continued to have the lion share of momentum where Relebohile Mofokeng and Maswanganyi combined to bring Nkota on strike but he fluffed his lines.
SuperSport coach Gavin Hunt made a triple change in Donay Jansen for Terrence Dzvukamanja, Ime Okon ahead of Brooklyn Poggenpoel before withdrawing Lyle Lakay for Keanin Ayer.
Matsatsantsa were buoyed by the arrivals later on thus pressed aggressively in pursuit of the equaliser, with Pule seeing a lot of the forward play but the Sea Robbers kept calm.
However, the Buccaneers still carved out chances later on where a teasing pass by Deano Van Rooyen released Makgopa for a brace but the Bafana forward nodded narrowly wide.
Deon Hotto made the victory safe in the dying minutes after beating Goss with a deft finish from the edge of the box, sealing their fourth league victory in a row.
