Police issue statement on Real Madrid bus crash

With the Real Madrid team bus having been involved in a road accident after their game against Liverpool on Wednesday, police have now issued a statement on the matter.

Los Blancos suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield, with the result leaving the Spanish giants 24th on the UEFA Champions League table, with just six points from five matches so far.

Several things went wrong for Carlo Ancelotti's side on Wednesday night, as their defeat was coupled with a penalty miss by Kylian Mbappe and an injury to Eduardo Camavinga, which will reportedly keep him out for at least three weeks.

With luck seemingly not on their side, the club suffered another blow, but this time off the pitch.

It is believed that the club's team bus was involved in a crash with a lorry and a car, but fortunately, there were no casualties from the collision.

The Real players and staff were not on the bus at the time of the incident, as they had taken a flight after their game against the Reds.

The bus, meanwhile, is thought to have been carrying the team's equipment back to Spain when the crash happened.

According to The Mirror, Warwickshire Police have since issued a statement, saying: "Our officers responded to reports of a collision involving a car, a lorry, and the coach of a well-known football team on the M40 southbound between junction 16 for Hockley Heath and junction 15 for Warwick.

"Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured. The players from the well-known football team were not on the coach at the time."

Ancelotti, meanwhile, will look to put the Liverpool result behind him quickly as their next assignment is a LALIGA tie against Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu.
