OFFICIAL: Al Ahly star punished after clashing with captain

An Al Ahly star has been fined and suspended by the club after clashing with captain Mohamed El-Shenawy.

Kingfut have reported that Midfielder Emam Ashour was not too pleased with El-Shennawy's attempts to calm him down after he was an unused substitute during the match against Stade d'Abidjan.

The argument then led to a confrontation between the two players before teammates had to step in and defuse the season while sporting director Mohamed Ramadan also got involved.

The club have since released a statement confirming the player will train on his own until he offers a an apology to the players and the coaching staff.

The African champions also confirmed that Ashour was also fined One million EGP for the incident.

The Red Devils will be back in action on Sunday evening when they lock horns with Al Ahly Bank.
