'Everything that Pitso built is going to be crushed' - Sundowns fan

With Mamelodi Sundowns having appointed Miguel Cardoso as the club's new coach going forward, fans have shared their unhindered thoughts.

The reigning Betway Premiership champions made the announcement on Tuesday, also confirming that Manqoba Mngqithi and Wendell Robinson will no longer be apart of the club's coaching setup.

The Brazilians did, however, reveal that coaches Steve Komphela and Kennedy Mweene will remain as part of the club's new technical makeup.

With Cardoso now at the helm and gearing up for his first challenge as Downs manager – a CAF Champions League encounter against Raja Club Athletic on Sunday – fans have shared their thoughts on the coaching changes.

Check out what they said:

"Well, a good decision. Sundowns are not a feared side anymore. Even Chiefs fancy their chance of beating them," says Lesia Ramatema.

"I'm still waiting for a picture of this plumber winning a trophy in his home country. As for Sundowns, they'll regret appointing a farmer as a sporting director," says Mohau Hauzen Mahoota Legodi.

"Back to winning ways," says Priscilla Shandu.

"This is the end of Sundowns. Everything that Pitso built is going to be crushed by this Madala," says Livhuwani Liephnex Nemaxwi.

"Seems like this league will be simple for us, Pirates, to win it," says Khuthin Nevhutalu.

"Sundowns is going down just like Chiefs. How can you hire a coach who has got one trophy in his entire coaching career," says Malusi T Ndwandwe.

"Sundowns expect every coach to match Pitso's level in a short space of time. When that doesn't happen, they fire the coach. This one will follow soon, as he can't reach the standard expected from him anytime soon," says Piet Mgabhi.

"This is the beginning of the end for Sundowns. I remember a lot of foreign coaches come and go and Sundowns was sitting at no 8 on the league until Pitso come to Sundowns. Kristo, Dolezar to name the few coaches who failed. Sundowns is a club for carpet football. It needs local coaches. You will remember the days of Bra Screamer Shabalala RIP. Shoe shine and piano," says Sibusiso Mdunge.

"Sundowns are sensing danger early before too much damage is done. They lost a cup to Magesi FC, already on the backfoot having drawn their opening CAF games. Those three results on their own are a dilemma for a quality team like Sundowns, knowing they have to prepare for the Club World Cup," writes Lindokuhle Masinga.

"They did very well. It was long overdue anyway by the look of things there was no difference between Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs under Manqoba Mqithi. We need a coach who will make us feared again, not a plumber," says Sandile Bhodlinyma Bulwana
