According to Transfermarkt, the club parted ways with a staggering 22 players at the beginning of the season, with some leaving permanently and others on loan.

The depth of their squad has been a point of conversation among media and pundits alike, with many arguing that the team is very bloated.

One player is now on the brink of leaving Stamford Bridge in favour of a move to the Bundesliga.

According to Sky Sports Germany, Chelsea star Renato Veiga has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund on loan for the remainder of the season.

The report indicates that the two clubs are still negotiating the transfer after the player gave his approval.

It is said that Dortmund want an option to buy included in the contract.

Veiga only joined Chelsea in July 2024 from Swiss side FC Basel in a deal worth €14 million (R273 million).

Since then, the 21-year-old has played 18 matches, contributing two goals and one assist.

The defender also made his Portugal national team debut in October 2024 and has since earned a total of three caps for his country.
