Wydad chief to reject Rulani's transfer request?

According to reports, coach Rulani Mokwena's transfer plans may be facing a new hurdle as the window approaches its conclusion.

Wydad recently confirmed the acquisition of a new player this past weekend, with the club securing the services of French-born defensive midfielder Mickael Malsa on a free transfer, as per Transfermarkt.

It is understood that Malsa underwent a trial at the club and, upon being assessed by the Mokwena-led coaching staff, the 29-year-old former Real Valladolid star became Wydad's newest recruit.

The Casablanca outfit has now made two signings, including the earlier arrival of full-back Fahd Moufi. However, it is reported that Mokwena's intention is to bring in additional new signings before the window closes.

According to 365Scores, the South African tactician could be facing some obstacles in his quest to recruit as many players as he desires.

The report claims that Mokwena requested four new signings, including two forwards, a midfielder, and a defender.

However, the Wydad management, led by club president Hicham Ait-Menna, is reportedly only keen to bring in a new striker to conclude the current transfer window.

It is also noted that Wydad are set to complete the signing of FAR Rabat goalkeeper El Mehdi Benabid on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
