Lorch's Wydad debut ends in victory

Wydad Athletic Club picked up three points over the weekend, with Thembinkosi Lorch making his debut for the Moroccan outfit.

The Red Castle are keeping the pressure on AS FAR and RCA Zemamra, who are in second and third place on the table with 37 points, after their 2-0 victory over Hassania Union Sport Agadir on Sunday.

Jamal Harkass opened the scoring for the home side, with Ismail Moutaraji doubling their lead in the 58th minute.

While Cassius Mailula started the match, Lorch came on off the bench to help the side see off HUSA to make it three wins on the bounce.

With the Red Castle now on 36 points after 20 games, they will be looking to end the season off strongly as a second-place finish could be well within their grasp.

The club will have also been boosted by the new additions who joined during the January transfer window.

The list of players include Mickael Malsa, Fahd Moufi, Zakaria Fatihi, Mohammed El Jadidi, El Mehdi Benabid and the duo of Selemani Mwalimu and Samuel Obeng who were announced last week.

Lorch is also among the January signings and before their most recent encounter, Wydad revealed that the South African would be wearing the no. 4 jersey.
