Bafana Bafana defender Siyabonga Ngezana has another season of silverware anticipation at Romanian champions FCSB.

Ngezana has already won the league and the Super Cup since arriving at FCSB in July 2023.

His second season has come with minutes in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and now has a two-legged Europa League knockout phase play-offs tie against Greek club PAOK over the next two Thursdays.

Beyond that, there is the important business of defending the league title, for which they are back top of the standings in the regular season.

FCSB have their place in the championship round play-offs all but secured with four matches remaining in the 30-game regular campaign.

The champions have climbed up to 46 points and have a place in the top six safe.

After the 30-game regular season, the top six teams will have their points halved, rounded upwards, with no other records carried over, before they then play each other twice.

The team finishing top is then declared champions with second and third place getting European competitions tickets.

Following his recent injury, Ngezana was back in the match-day squad on Sunday but was an unused substitute as FCSB ran out 3-0 winners over Sepsi OSK at the Arena Nationala in Bucharest.

The 27-year-old will be in the traveling squad to Thessaloniki for Thursday's Europa League first leg.

Ngezana has already been linked with a move from Romania, which is now likely to happen during the next transfer window if he maintains his good displays.
