With the PSL yet to resolve the Royal AM fixture suspension matter, KickOff looks at how the unknown Nedbank Cup quarterfinals opponents for Mamelodi Sundowns affect their schedule.
Sundowns do not know yet which team they will face in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup, as they were drawn to await the winners of the round of 32 clash between Royal AM and Milford FC and another from the Last 16 against Sekhukhune United.

The PSL already faces a big fixture nightmare of solving the issue of the winner of the round 32 and last 16 Nedbank Cup ties, as the saga involving the suspension of Thwihli Thwahla games continues.
The League did not announce the dates for the quarterfinals fixtures on Monday, but the last eight games will take place on the weekend of March 8-9.
With league matches scheduled from 29 March onward after the FIFA break, the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals are most likely to be scheduled on the second week or third week of April, where there is a gap in the Betway Premiership calendar.
Last season, Nedbank Cup quarterfinals took place between 12 and 14 April and after a delayed start to the season, the 2024/25 Nedbank Cup last eight matches could play at least a week later to last season's schedule.
That means Sundowns need to know their opponent for the quarterfinals before mid-April, failing which it could lead to their fixture also suspended.
Should the PSL not have a decision on Royal AM by mid-April, the writing could already be on the wall that the KwaZulu-Natal side will be expelled or sold by SARS, which could give Milford a bye to the round of 16.
Then The Stallions would need to fight with Sekhukhune United for the right to face Masandawana.

If that process happens after mid-April, that could complicate The Brazilians' season, only if they reach the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
The quarter-finals of the Champions League are set to take place on 1 and 2 April for the first-leg ties and the second leg games on 8 and 9 April, likely to be before the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.
