Nabi calls out ‘lack of respect’

Coach Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed turning down massive offers from big teams in favor of his current job with Kaizer Chiefs.

Nabi joined Amakhosi at the beginning of the current campaign with the hope of bringing back the club's glory days after more than nine years without a trophy.

The Tunisian has already missed out on a chance to win the Carling Knockout this season and is currently finding it hard, together with the rest of the teams, to catch up with Mamelodi Sundowns for Betway Premiership honours.

Nabi has expressed his desire to help the Soweto giants reach greater heights. However, he expressed his disappointment about the criticism received from other coaches and talk of his salary at Naturena.

"I am not here for money," Nabi told journalists after the league match against Sundowns at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

"People talk too much in the media. My salary, I don't talk (about it). Every three days, I receive proposals from big clubs. Three times ( salary) than what I receive here (at Chiefs).

"I have a mission here at Kaizer Chiefs. I have a lot of respect for the mission. I am not here for the money and I love this club and I am strong and I don't lose my confidence quickly like that. I am going to sacrifice everything to ensure Chiefs go back to where they belong.

"Criticism is part of the job, but sometimes when you see your colleague, or coaches criticize you, that's a lack of respect, especially when you are in a bad situation. That's a lack of respect," he added.

The former Young Africans tactician signed a three-year contract with the Glamour Boys  at the beginning of 2024/25.

Chiefs last won the league in the 2014/15 season under Stuart Baxter.
