Former Senegal boss Aliou Cisse is reportedly set to become one of the highest-paid national team coaches in Africa, with a salary of €76,000 (R1.4 million) per month at his new job.
Some were left surprised in October 2024 when Cisse's departure as Senegal head coach was announced.

The manager's contract had expired, and it was reported that the Senegalese Football Federation was considering extending his deal, but the Ministry of Sports opposed Cisse's proposed renewal.
Last month, Cisse was spotted at a stadium inauguration in Libya, and it was reported that he was in the country to hold talks over taking charge of their national team.
Now, according to The Libya Observer, Cisse has agreed on a deal to become Libya's new head coach.
The 48-year-old is expected to be in the country's capital, Benghazi, on 5 March, where he will sign a two-year contract, including an option for an extra year.
It is further claimed that his salary will be €76,000 (R1.4 million) per month, making him one of the best-paid national team managers in Africa.
It is said that Cisse will be the second-highest-earning coach on the continent, trailing only Algeria manager Vladimir Petkovic, who earns €135,000 (R2.6 million).
The report also indicates that Cisse will oversee some of the youth teams as well, as his role is also said to be a strategic move to develop football in Libya.
Additionally, Cisse will reportedly be allowed to choose members of his own assistant staff.
