Royal AM miss salary payments... AGAIN!

In yet another twist to a never-ending saga, Royal AM players have missed their salaries again after the club failed to make payment at the end of February.

Royal AM have been placed under curatorship after club boss Shauwn Mkhize's assets were seized by SARS due to outstanding payments reported to be close to R40 million.

The KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit has yet to play its first match in the Betway Premiership in 2025.

They have already forfeited their spot in the Nedbank Cup having been drawn to play against Milford FC in the Last 32.

Tebogo Monyai, who is the Vice-President of the South African Football Players Union [SAFPU], has confirmed the latest developments at the beleaguered club.

"The players were paid all their outstanding salaries. However, they have not received their salaries for February," says Monyai, giving a update to KickOff.com.

"They were supposed to receive it at the end of February. But you must also understand any organization has a seven-day grace period to pay salaries. It's a matter of waiting."

Royal AM are reported to have already been placed on sale in a bid to recover money owed by Mkhize to SARS.

"At the moment, nothing has been reported to us. We only see the reports in the media," Monyai added.

Efforts to get hold of the club's General Manager, Richard Makhoba, proved futile at the time of compiling this report after several attempts to reach out to him on his mobile phone.
