Orlando Pirates were held to a goalless draw by ten-man Stellenbosch FC in Betway Premiership action on Tuesday night.
Deano Van Rooyen, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Goodman Mosele and Kabelo Dlamini, Tshegofatso Mabasa were restored to the Buccaneers starting eleven.
There was not much between the two sides in the opening stages, with matters relatively tight and chances reduced to an extreme premium.
The Maroons didn't seem unfazed in and around the closing quarter but managed to get in their own and unsettled the Buccaneers on a few instances.
However, Stellies were a man down ten minutes before halftime when Brian Onyango was dismissed for bringing down Mabasa and denying him a clear path to goal.
Dlamini nearly profited from the free-kick that followed on the edge of the six-yard box, but he unfortunately battered the top of the crossbar.
Stellies made a double substitution before the second period and saw Ibraheem Jabaar as well as Athenkosi Mcaba introduced for Andre de Jong and Devon Titus respectively.
The Buccaneers were moments to going ahead as a loose ball from a corner fell to Nkosinathi Sibisi, but the Maroons made a solid block.
It remained tight all-round with chances very few and far between as Pirates introduced Patrick Maswanganyi for Dlamini.
Pirates did have the ball in the net in the final ten minutes off the head of Mabasa following Van Rooyen's cross, but he was flagged for offside.
At the other end, Maroons pushed forward and nearly stunned the masses when a low shot from Kazie Enyinnaya put Sipho Chaine in a spot of bother.
Neither of the two were able to get the breakthrough as full-time drew ever closer thus saw the spoils shared in the end.
