Wydad star makes bold claim amidst Rulani struggles

Wydad Athletic Club senior player Fahd Moufi has made a bold claim about the Red Castle while highlighting the importance of patience under the leadership of coach Rulani Mokwena amidst the club's struggles.

The Botola Pro League powerhouse has shown inconsistency recently, having recorded four straight draws in the league, which seemingly dented their prospects of finishing second in the league standings.

Mokwena's team currently sits in third place on the table, level on 43 points with fourth-placed FUS Rabat, and two points behind second-placed AS FAR Rabat.

The Wydad of the Nation can now only finish the season as the runners-up and secure a spot in the CAF Champions League, as RSB Berkane has already been crowned the 2024/25 Botola champions.

Wydad's inconsistent performances have put pressure on the South African coach and his troops, as fans have been showing dissatisfaction with the club's performances.

Mokwena was reportedly set to have crunch talks with club boss Hicham Ait Menna on Tuesday to discuss the reasons for the recent downturn in results.

Nevertheless, while calling for patience and support from the club's fans, Moufi, who joined the team in January this year, has come out to defend Mokwena, insisting that every team in the league is against Wydad.

"Our group is working well, and the coaches are working day and night for us and to improve ourselves to make the fans proud,'' Moufi said per Le Site Info Sport.

"God willing, we want second place! We need all of you. Trust us, we are all moving in the same direction, and we will fight to make you proud.

"We are Wydad, against everyone, no one can stop us. Thank you for all your messages. God willing, everything is fine. Always, Widad."
