A former Bafana Bafana international with UEFA Champions League experience believes CAF should share the blame for the Teboho Mokoena yellow cards saga, not just SAFA.
Mokoena's illegal participation in the Group C World Cup qualifier against neighbors Lesotho at Peter Mokaba Stadium last Friday continues to make headlines as everyone awaits FIFA's decision on the matter.
Bafana won the match 2-0.
Nasief Morris, who earned 39 caps between 2004 and 2009, argues that CAF should learn from the PSL and notify teams about player bookings ahead of every international week.

"I think the blame should also be on SAFA. I understand that with the national team, you're not playing every week, but CAF should have notified SAFA by saying: 'These are the players who are on yellow cards, and these are the players who are not eligible to play in your next match,'" says the ex-Panathinaikos man.
"Similar to how the PSL sends confirmations to clubs every week about players who are on two or three yellow cards, as well as those who are suspended, CAF should take a similar approach. It's not just SAFA's fault. Responsibility must come from both sides, CAF and SAFA.
"The technical teams, players, and management of clubs or national teams should also keep track of these matters," shares Morris.
The 43-year-old says during his time as part of the Cape Town Spurs technical team, he always made sure he was updated on which players were on how many yellow cards.

"Everyone must take responsibility for these issues, including the players, who should know if they are on two or three yellow cards.
"It's not fair to blame just one entity or one person for this situation. Everyone needs to acknowledge their responsibility."
