Rulani not 'giving up' on Pirates-linked star

Rulani Mokwena's Wydad Athletic Club are reportedly trying other strategies to sign Young African star Stephen Aziz Ki, who has also been linked with Premier Soccer League teams Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

The Botola Pro League team became more active in the market after the South African coach arrived at the beginning of the current season. Wydad finished in a disappointing sixth place last season and consequently, they have been working hard to enhance the squad for the 38-year-old manager.

In the recent January transfer window, the Yanga star was rumoured to be one of Wydad's top targets and was nearing a move to the Red Castle, however, a potential agreement did not materialize.

Nevertheless, a new report emerged from the Moroccan outlet Pro.saleh13. com suggests that Wydad are still tracking Aziz Ki as they remain keen on securing his signature ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window.

Interestingly, a few days ago, Aziz Ki's representative was s captured with Mokwena and the club's president Hicham Ait Menna, but it is still unclear whether they were discussing the 29-year-old Yanga star, whose contract with the club runs until June 2026.

Furthermore, in January this year, it was reported that the Tanzanian title holders were reluctant to part with Aziz Ki. It remains to be seen whether Yanga will ultimately allow one of their stars to leave in the next window.
