Wydad Athletic Club players have reportedly received financial incentives ahead of their eagerly anticipated Casablanca Derby against Raja Casablanca later this month.
The Red Castle will lock horns with their city rivals at the iconic Stade Mohammed V Stadium on Saturday, April 12, in a Botola Pro League encounter. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the first round of the league in November last year.
In an effort to motivate his players before the match, Wydad president Hicham Ait Menna is said to have allocated some funds to reward them.

According to WinWin, Wydad players will get $3 000 (R55,000) each as a token of encouragement to secure maximum points against the Green Eagles.
However, Mokwena and his players will first face off against Moghreb Tetuán in the Moroccan Throne Cup Round of 16 this upcoming Saturday, following their victory over FUS Rabat in the last 32 game.

A win in a cup match will definitely serve as a confidence booster for Wydad leading up to the Casablanca Derby as they strive to finish as the league runners-up, with RSB Berkane having already been crowned champions.
The three-time CAF Champions league winners currently sit in position three in the league standings, having accumulated 43 points, two behind second-placed AS FAR Rabat with five games before the league ends.
