"A special thank you to the legend, Michael Owen for the wonderful visit! We wish you continued success in everything," the club said in a statement shared across their social media platforms.

Owen is widely regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation after scoring 222 goals in 482 club appearances for the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Stoke City.

He also scored 40 times in 89 caps for England and famously won the 2001 Ballon d'Or award, seeing off competition from Los Blancos legend Raul Gonzalez and former Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn.
