Barker bemoans ref's penalty decision

Lekitlane adjudged rookie defender Jomo Gumede to have hacked substitute Tsweu Mokoro’s leg while the Birds’ player was on his way to a goal-scoring position.

AmaZulu were trailing 1-0 at that time and went on to lose 2-0 at the Princess Magogo Stadium yesterday.

“The ref’s decision changed the complexion of the game because an equaliser was imminent as we had pressed them hard.

“I don’t fault Jomo, given that this is his first season in top flight football. Otherwise Swallows played well and punished us with those one-on-one chances. When we took the game to them, their defender Bevan Fransman stood out for them.”

The former Bafana Bafana coach also lamented the loss of Usuthu’s key striker Dumisani Ngwenya.

“You will notice that in the games that he has been absent, we were flat upfront.”
