New deal loading for Dolly…

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Keagan Dolly is closing in on starting a new chapter with another DStv Premiership outfit, with a deal now imminent.

Dolly was among players released by Chiefs in the current transfer window, including the likes of Njabulo Ngcobo, Siyethemba Sithebe, Sifiso Hlanti and Jasond Gonzalez.

KickOff understands that the Glamour Boys were in talks with the 31-year-old towards the end of the 2023/24 season, with the view of renewing his deal, which was expiring at the end of June.

However, indications are that the negotiations stalled due to the delay in Amakhosi finalizing the issue of a new head coach.

It appears the Soweto giants eventually made the call not to renew Dolly's contract after finally getting advice from incoming coach Nasreddine Nabi, who is set to work closely with his assistant Fernando Da Cruz, who arrived well in advance, five days before Chiefs announced the players that would be leaving.

Reports subsequently emerged that SuperSport United were leading the race to sign the Bafana Bafana midfielder and later that he was spotted at Megawatt Park, United's base in Sunninghill, Johannesburg, as per Soccer Laduma.

Now, this website can reveal, with regards to the latest update regarding Dolly's next move, that the two parties are currently in negotiations and talks between the mercurial midfielder's camp and Matsatsantsa are taking place and have progressed well.

Sources have revealed that negotiations between the Tshwane side and the attacker's handlers are actually at an advanced stage.

Dolly, who was reportedly one of the highest earners at Amakhosi, looks set to take a huge salary cut at Matsatsantsa, according to an impeccable source privy to the deal that is in the final stages.
