Chiefs remain in title hunt with Sekhukhune scalp

Sekhukhune United 0-2 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs cemented second spot on the DStv Diski Challenge standings and in hunt for the title following a 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United on Sunday.

The Amakhosi hit the ground running from the get-go through youth international Neo Bohloko and ultimately guided the visitors to the lead at halftime.

Chiefs grabbed the full complement of points in the second half as free-scoring Naledi Hlongwane pounced to continue his rich vein of form in front of goals.

Richards Bay FC 0-1 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates cemented seventh-place on the table with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Richards Bay FC.

The Buccaneers, who haven't shown the dominance from last season, have grinded out results in the second half of the season with the Natal Rich Boys no pushovers.

With the match set to end goalless, the Soweto giants showed a nerve of steel to bag the winner courtesy of Neo Mokoena and saw them 10-points adrift leaders Stellenbosch FC.

Cape Town City 3-2 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns inconsistent spell of fortunes continued and suffered a 3-2 defeat to Cape Town City at the Malta Sports Stadium.

Masandawana were up against it from the onset as the Citizens pulled clear courtesy of a brace by Cee-Jay Bezuidenhout and another finish from Dhakier Lee.

The Brazilians pushed late on with Gomolemo Kekana and a penalty from Mokoena, but there was no comeback as City bagged victory.

Stellenbosch FC 3-0 SuperSport United

Third-place SuperSport United picked up their first defeat of this calendar year following a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of defending champions and leaders Stellenbosch FC.

The Maroons, though, continue to sit pretty at the top of the table and are two points ahead of second-place Kaizer Chiefs.

Goals from Cheswyn Philander, Faiz Abrahams and Kyle Bailey were enough to get the Maroons to victory and in the hunt for successive titles.

Marumo Gallants FC 1-0 Chippa United

Marumo Gallants FC jumped from the bottom of the table in the DStv Diski Challenge following a 1-0 victory over Chippa United on Saturday.

An atrocious campaign best sums it up for the duo who have failed to get going for much of the reign and experienced single margin of victories too.

However, Bahlabane Ba Ntwa decided to seize initiative on this occasion and furthermore leapfrogged the Chilli Boys on the table standings.

Golden Arrows 2-3 TS Galaxy

Golden Arrows suffered yet another disappointing defeat to remain in the bottom-half courtesy of a 3-2 defeat to TS Galaxy.

For the Rockets, it's their first win of the year and moved swiftly into the top eight as Abafana Besthende failed to overturn last weekend's 4-0 drubbing by Kaizer Chiefs.
