According to the list of 29 players registered by Stars, Luphahla is not included though he is still training with the club and has a contract up to the end of the season.
The 31-year-old has yet to feature in an official game for Stars this season.
“Luphahla is not yet registered but he is still under contract at Platinum Stars. However he can be registered at any time. You can ask the coach why he has not been registered,” says Stars’ official Thierry Mulonzo.
“Firstly, I don’t need to give an explanation about why he is not registered as yet,” was the Tycoons’ coach Miguel Gamondi immediate response.
However, he then added: “But you know that Luphahla is a foreign player and so I am in no rush to register him. If he was a local guy then maybe I would have registered him already, but since he is a foreigner I will take my time and be careful because you only have limited space for foreign players,” says Gamondi.
Stars still have two foreign spaces open, the three that they have currently on their books are Tapuwa Kapini, Almiro Lobo and Luis Renteria.
Although not active at club level, Luphahla has played regularly for his national team since making his return in the Cosafa Cup in July.
Luphahla spent the whole of last season on the sidelines after the club chose not to register him as he was still injured.
Then during the January transfer window, with only one foreign space open, he was passed over and the club chose to register Colombian Renteria instead.
