Durban City extend lead in the Championship

Durban City 1-0 Venda Football Academy

Durban City extended their lead at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table to five points with a 1-0 win over Venda Football Academy on Friday.

Back to the drawing board as it were for Venda, who couldn't replicate last weekend's five-star showing over rivals Baroka FC as the Team of Choice march closer to promotion.

Namibia international Joslin Kamatuka was once again the difference maker for the host as he netted the all-important strike of the day.

Milford Stallions 1-2 Orbit College

Orbit College got back to winning ways with a narrow 2-1 victory over Milford Stallions on Saturday.

The visitors came into the clash with a 1-1 draw against Upington City last Friday, while Milford held Cape Town Spurs.

While Orbit regain second spot on the back of this outcome, the host moved down to fourth-place and three points adrift their counterparts.

JDR Stars 0-0 Highbury FC

JDR Stars surrendered second spot and missed the chance to close the gap on leaders Durban City in a goalless draw against the resurgent Highbury FC.

The Hammerboys dropped down to third place following this outcome, as Highbury remain in the bottom-half though nearer to the top eight,

Hungry Lions 2-0 Leruma United

Hungry Lions edged towards the top-four bracket after a 2-0 victory over bottom-placed Leruma United in the Northern Cape province.

This is the home side's successive win following last weekend's tremendous display over Highbury FC and moved to sixth spot on the table.

Muzomuhle Khanyi followed up his hat-trick last weekend with a brace and once again guided Di Tau all the way to maximum points.

Kruger United 1-1 Casric Stars

Casric Stars strengthened fifth-place on the table through a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Kruger United out in the Mpumalanga province.

For Kruger, the point ended their three-match losing run in all competitions as Casric's inconsistent campaign continues with Decide Chauke getting the goal for them.

Pretoria Callies 1-2 Upington City

Upington City bagged their first win in over four months after getting past Pretoria Callies 2-1 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

The Romans barren run on all fronts continues in their third consecutive loss in all competitions and dropped to 13th on the table.

Bokang Mokwena got the ball rolling very early before Leandro De Sousa replied, while Trevor Mokwena missed a spot-kick for City not long thereafter.

However, it didn't deter Bafana Ba Gucci who still got over the line when Mokwena netted for his brace and moved them to 11th position.

Black Leopards 3-0 Cape Town Spurs

Black Leopards resumed winning ways to jump back into the top eight with a comprehensive 3-0 drubbing off relegation-threatened Cape Town Spurs.

Lidoda Duvha came off a narrow defeat at Leruma United over the course of the last weekend, while Spurs played a thrilling stalemate with promotion-chasing Milford.

Baroka FC 1-1 University of Pretoria

Baroka FC began life without coach Joel Masutha with a last-gasp 1-1 draw against University of Pretoria in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Sunday.

Forward Kgomotso Mosadi bagged a second goal in as many matches after running clear following a loose ball to dink into an unguarded net.

Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele didn't lose hope amidst trailing and secured a point late on through ex-Orlando Pirates striker Collins Makgaka.
