Ngezana’s growth in European adventures

Bafana Bafana defender Siyabonga Ngezana has one foot in the Last 16 of the Europa League after his Romanian club FCSB came out victorious on Thursday night.

FCSB were away at Greek club PAOK for the first leg of their Europa League knockout phase play-off tie and ended as 2-1 winners.

The second leg is on Thursday with the winners meeting either French club Lyon or Eintracht Frankfurt from Germany.

Having not been involved in the two matches prior to last night due to injury, Ngezana was back in the starting XI but was unfortunate to be withdrawn at half-time in what was suspected to be an injury discomfort.

However, the result on the night gave FCSB the advantage.

Should they move into the Last 16, it will come with the benefit of increasing Ngezana's value with a transfer expected at the end of the season.

The former Kaizer Chiefs defender has already been linked with moves to clubs in France, Italy, and England.

Ngezana is taking aim at domestic silverware with the Romanian league title to defend.
