PSL coach: We can handle the likes of Pirates...

Richards Bay FC interim coach Ronnie Gabriel has labelled upcoming opponents Orlando Pirates as 'arguably the best team on the continent' but insisted that his side have what it takes to overcome the Nedbank Cup defending champions.

The Natal Rich Boyz have what appears to be a daunting task in the Nedbank Cup round of 32, where they face Pirates at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.

Bucs are fresh off a 2-0 win over Egyptian giants Al Ahly to wrap up the group stages of the CAF Champions League in top spot.  

Although Jose Riveiro's men are overwhelming favourites to progress to the next stage of the cup competition, Gabriel that his side can wrestle something out of the clash.

"Coming to the fixture, the preparations have gone well during the course of the week," affirmed Gabriel.

"It gives the group a good opportunity to play arguably against the best team on the continent at the present moment.

"So, the preparations are going well. The group is galvanised, they are ready for this fixture. 

"As we know, this cup is a cup of opportunities, so we are confident going into the fixture.

"If you look at our fixture schedule, it allows us to put out a strong team, so we will be putting out a team that's competitive enough to handle the likes of Orlando Pirates this weekend," he added.

Richards Bay will also draw confidence from the Soweto giants' premature exit in their last knockout competition, where they suffered a shock defeat to Magesi FC in the first round of the Carling Knockout.

The match will kick-off at 15:00.
