Among the big names included in the squad are Zwicle FC and Sihlangu golden boy Phinda ‘Phindrix’ Dlamini.
In fact, there are three Sihlangu players making up the Under-20 team, with the others being Mbabane Swallows’ striker Welile Maseko and Manzini Wanderers’ midfielder Felix Badenhorst.
But the biggest surprise was the omission of another Sihlangu SeMnikati in striker Zweli Zulu, who plays for RSSC United.
The 18-year-old, who recently won the top goal scorer award in the COSSASA Games in Namibia, is currently part of the senior national team preparing to play Togo in next month’s crucial World Cup tie in Ghana.
Other players plying their trade in the Premier League include Swallows’ exciting winger Sizwe Shabangu, Mbabane Highlanders’ new recruit Xolani Sibandze and his team-mate Banele Dlamini.
Bulunga, announcing the team yesterday, explained that this team was selected before the start of the new season, so it is not based on the current performance of the players.
“We would like to invite all the players that have been called up to join the team at our first training sessions to be held at the Old Trade Fair over the weekend. The players will be refunded their transport fees after the training sessions,” he said.
