Pitso Mosimane's former employers Al Ahli are now reportedly in talks to sign an ex-Liverpool talisman.
A number of Saudi teams are in pursuit of some of European club football's most recognisable stars, and having recently been acquired by new owners the Public Investment Fund, Al Ahli seem to now have the financial muscle to facilitate a blockbuster transfer or two, despite being accused of not paying Mosimane, his coaching staff, and players prior to the takeover earlier this month.

The Jeddah outfit is now said to be interested in signing striker Roberto Firmino after he left Liverpool as a free agent this month, having offered him a reported three-year deal.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, talks are already underway between the Brazilian and the club, but the forward is yet to decide whether or not he will make the move.
It is said that Al Ahli have already prepared medical tests in case an agreement is reached this week, but the 31-year-old is reportedly not short of potential suitors, with clubs in Italy having also been linked with his signature.
Having scored 111 times in 362 appearances for Liverpool and won six trophies in the process, his former teammate Mohamed Salah recently gave a glowing review of the South American star.
"[It's] his ability to do everything in the game and also to sacrifice himself for the team," Salah explained in Bobby, a new mini-series put together by the club.
"He just plays for the team. He doesn't really care about scoring that much, he just wants to enjoy his game and just play football, and wants the team to win.
"I think he's one of the ones [who has] been loved the most because everybody likes him. He's really calm, always smiling.
"And as I said before, when you see someone sacrifice himself for the team, you see everybody loves him here."

It is believed, meanwhile, that Al Ahli already have an agreement in place to sign Chelsea and Senegal shot-stopper Edouard Mendy, with that deal expected to be announced this week.
