Al Ahly have been slammed by a former Zamalek star for threatening to withdraw from the Egyptian Premier League.

Former Zamalek player Hossam Osama says Al Ahly have always been favoured by the referees and urged the league to stand by local referees.
"The referees favor Al Ahly and assist them a lot, and at the end of matches, they receive penalties," Osama said on Box To Box.
"I see no justification for Al Ahly's request for foreign referees before facing Zamalek in the Egyptian league."
"Al Ahly created a crisis in an exceptional league, and it should have stood by and supported the Egyptian referees, especially since it is one of the pillars of Egyptian football."
