The former Real Madrid boss later spoke of how he was disappointed at having to part ways with the Italian side as he felt a deep connection with the club and its fans.
Having since reportedly declined offers from Saudi Arabian clubs and the Canada national team, he has also fielded some from around Europe too, and Mourinho has now been named the new head coach of Fenerbahce.

His appointment by the Turkish outfit comes after a presidential candidate of the club, Aziz Yildirim, made it clear that he had talks with Mourinho over becoming the next manager of Fenerbahce.
With the team having qualified for next season's UEFA Champions League, Mourinho is said to see the project as an exciting one.
The 61-year-old is understood to have signed a two-year deal with the Super Lig team, one that includes an option to extend for another season.
