COMPLETED: 15 exciting deals got over the line this week!

It has been a busy week of transfers, with 15 big deals taking place, including some big exits from the Premier League and a rising African star's departure from his Spanish club!

Riyad Mahrez completed a move from Manchester City to Al Ahli in a deal worth €30 million (R583 million) on Friday afternoon. The Algeria international has penned a four-year deal in Saudi Arabia, and will now earn a reported £25 million (R567 million) a year, according to Goal.

Another African star, 24-year-old Nigerian sensation Samuel Chukwueze, signed a five-year deal with Italian giants AC Milan, ending his six-year association with Villarreal on the back of winning the 2022/23 LALIGA African MVP Award.

The attacker will wear the No. 21 shirt for the Rossoneri as he joins up with fellow new arrivals Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the Italian capital.

With Mahrez being the latest marquee arrival, Saudi Arabian clubs were once again busy this week, with several other signings having been confirmed in the past few days.

Al Ettifaq, the side now managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, announced the arrivals of another Reds icon in Jordan Henderson and French striker Moussa Dembele from Olympique Lyon.

The England midfielder penned a lucrative three-year contract that will see him get a reported salary of £700 000 (R15.8 million) a week, but his move has drawn some controversy in his native country as some have questioned his integrity as a result, given his previous dedication to promoting gay rights and fighting against discrimination and that he is now moving to a country with one of the worst human rights record in the world.

His new teammate Dembele, meanwhile, signed a two-year deal with Ettifaq after leaving Olympique Marseille as a free agent.

Al Hilal, who recently made a sensational bid to sign Kylian Mbappe, have added former FC Barcelona star Malcom to their ranks. They splashed a sizeable €60 million (R1.1 billion) fee to acquire the Brazilian winger from Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg.

Former Manchester United duo Anthony Elanga and Marcel Sabitzer also secured new moves this week, with the latter having joined Borussia Dortmund from Bayern Munich after a six-month loan spell at Old Trafford. The formerly mentioned Swede, meanwhile, signed for Nottingham Forest in a five-year deal worth €17.5 million (R340 million).

Several other African stars were also on the move recently, with Ivorian forward Wilfried Zaha and Senegal attacker Ismaila Sarr having completed transfers to new leagues.

The Ivory Coast talisman signed for Turkish giants Galatasaray as a free agent after leaving Crystal Palace, with Sarr also leaving England in favour of a move from Watford to Olympique Marseille, who paid a relatively low fee of €13 million (R252 million) to bring the 25-year-old to France.

Other noteworthy deals include exits from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, while Premier League sides such as Fulham and Brighton Hove Albion also bolstered their squad this week – see more below!
