Ronaldo to make shock Europe return with certain club?

It has now been reported that an unhappy Cristiano Ronaldo could soon make a return to Europe with a certain club.

The Portugal superstar could be set for an early return to European football just six months after joining Al Nassr in big-money move worth a reported €200 million (R4.1 million) a year.

It is believed the 38-year-old is not satisfied with how things have panned out so far in Saudi Arabia, with his team looking set to miss out on the Saudi Pro League title given that they are second on the table, trailing log leaders Al Ittihad by three points with three games to go before the season ends.

As such, speculation emerged towards the end of last month claiming that the striker wants to return to Real Madrid, but that avenue seems closed as the Spanish giants are said to have no interest in granting the forward a second stint at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ronaldo's options in Europe are also said to be slim after a number of top clubs rejected the opportunity to sign him from Manchester United at the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign, and again after he left the Premier League giants in November.

However, it is claimed a new path back to his native continent may have been opened by an unlikely source.

According to TeamTalk, wealthy business tycoon Markus Schon has taken it upon himself to bring the five-time Ballon d'Or winner to the Bundesliga.

The report claims that the German businessman has approached Bayern Munich and made an offer to club CEO Oliver Kahn to help finance the transfer fee or pay Ronaldo's salary.

It is stated that the ex-Los Blancos talisman would need to take a massive pay cut in order to play for the German side, though, while the move could also be met with rejection by Bavarians manager Thomas Tuchel, who is believed to have fallen out with Chelsea's owners due to his refusal to sign the player at Stamford Bridge last year before he was sacked.

Although Kahn has downplayed the reports since, Schon has publicly insisted that the attempt to sign the veteran marksman is something he is working on.

"It would be conceivable that we could undertake to pay a transfer fee or loan fee in excess of a basic amount to be defined if our company is clearly seen as "facilitating' the difference'," the businessman wrote, per Abendzeitung.

"In the event of a permanent commitment, we would expect a share in the proceeds from the jersey in order to limit our financial risk."
