Esteghlal make new 'cash offer' to Pitso

With Pitso Mosimane reportedly still owed money by Esteghlal FC, it is claimed that the Iranian club has now made a cash offer to the South African coach.

Mosimane is believed to still be on holiday while the Iranian top-flight remains on a break.

His side are set to play their first official match of 2025 on 20 January when they meet Shams Azar in an important league tie, which could see them climb into the top half of the table should they collect all three points.

Nevertheless, things have not been entirely smooth for the 60-year-old, as it has been widely reported that some of his contractual demands have not been met. Pitso's agent Moira Tlhagale confirmed to Soccer Laduma that "money is owed".

This has reportedly led to the tactician threatening to unilaterally terminate his contract should his outstanding payments not be settled within a 14-day period.

The Iranian press also reported that Esteghlal confirmed they had made two deposits into Mosimane's bank account after his request.

In yet another twist, the report states that the two deposits could not successfully go through due to sanctions preventing those in Iran from making transactions to South African banks.

Now, according to Iran outlet Sport3, the management of Esteghlal has offered to pay Mosimane's outstanding money in hard cash upon his return to Iran from South Africa.

It is also reported that the club offered to pay Mosimane using an account number from the United Arab Emirates or Qatar, but it would take a few days for the payment to reflect.

For this reason, it is believed that Esteghlal has proposed a cash offer to the ex-Al Ahly boss when he lands in Tehran.

The report claims that the former Bafana Bafana boss is expected to arrive in Iran on Friday before resuming training with the squad on Saturday.
