Euro giants 'come knocking' for Foster's manager

A top European club is now reportedly considering the possible appointment of Lyle Foster's Burnley manager Vincent Kompany just days after their Premier League relegation was sealed.

The Clarets finished in 19th place in the recently concluded 2023/24 EPL campaign after struggling to overcome the gruelling pressure of top-flight football, having registered just five wins all season.

Despite the side being instantly relegated back to the Championship, Kompany remains at the helm with no concrete suggestion that he could be sacked ahead of next season.

However, it could potentially be the Belgian who severs ties with the English club instead as he is now reportedly a managerial target for a few teams.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich are now weighing up the potential appointment of Kompany.

Current boss Thomas Tuchel will leave the German giants next month, and has reportedly turned down an opportunity to stay on at the Allianz Arena.

Rejecting Bayern has been a recurring theme of late, with the likes of Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick, and Oliver Glasner having all reportedly said no to the job.

The Bavarians, however, are not the only side looking at Kompany, with the Mirror claiming that Brighton Hove Albion are also considering the Manchester City legend as a potential replacement for departing manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Kompany, 38, has been in charge of Burnley for 96 matches so far, registering 41 wins, 24 draws, and 31 defeats.
