FIFA 'chooses' World Cup final venue, Africa snubbed?

FIFA has now reportedly chosen the venue they want for the final of the 2030 World Cup, which is set to be hosted by Morocco, Spain and Portugal.

The 2030 World Cup is set to be hosted by three nations, with FIFA having confirmed that the tournament will take place on two continents, Africa and Europe.

Moreover, the north African nation is set to be the first country in Africa to host World Cup matches since South Africa in 2010.

However, Morocco is now expected to miss out on hosting the final of the tournament, with it reported that it will be held at a famous European venue instead.

According to Marca, the final of the 2030 World Cup will be held in Spain, at Real Madrid's home stadium, the Santiago Bernabeu.

The report claims that although some final details still need to be polished, talks over an official agreement are ongoing between FIFA and the Spanish giants.

Per Marca, FIFA president Gianni Infantino and Los Blancos chief Florentino Perez are also in discussions over Real's participation at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, amid reports that the club initially wanted to boycott the tournament before announcing that they will honour their invitation.

Furthermore, however, with the requirements of hosting the World Cup also involving giving up the stadium for three months for FIFA's use, the Spanish giants are believed to be reluctant at this stage after completing recent renovations of the prestigious ground.
