More new players are expected at Wydad, and it is now reported that the club may not have to wait long for another arrival.
According to Moroccan outlet Ahdath Info, Paris-born star Mickael Malsa has undergone a successful trial at Wydad.
The report claims that the defensive midfielder, who represents Martinique at the international level, has been training with the Wydad squad since last week, where he was closely monitored by Mokwena and his coaching staff.
It is said that the South African tactician was convinced by the 29-year-old's qualities, and the player is now close to signing a deal with the Casablanca team.
Malsa has had a nomadic career, having played in France, Belgium, Greece, the Netherlands, Turkey, and Spain.
Some of the notable clubs he has represented in the past include FC Sochaux, Royal Antwerp, and Real Valladolid, with whom he parted ways in February 2024.
Malsa has been without a club since his exit from Valladolid, a Spanish team owned by Brazilian football legend Ronaldo.
