The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed that it has opened an investigation into former national team goalkeeper Patrick Matasi.

Matasi, whose last appearance for the country came in October 2024, is accused of match-fixing after a video allegedly showing him involved in the act began circulating online.
The 37-year-old is reportedly seen in a secretly recorded video engaging in a conversation to manipulate the outcome of a match in return for money.
A statement posted on the FKF's official Facebook page reads: "FKF takes the integrity of football seriously and has launched an official investigation into the matter in collaboration with the relevant authorities.
"We reaffirm our zero-tolerance policy on match manipulation and will take all necessary steps to safeguard the credibility of our competitions," FKF said in a statement on Thursday.
"This investigation will follow FKF's Anti-Match Manipulation Regulations and FIFA guidelines, ensuring a fair, transparent, and thorough process. The rights of the player and his club will be respected, and any necessary actions will be taken based on the findings."
Matasi's last appearance for Kenya came just over five months ago during a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cameroon.
The Harambee Stars lost the match 4–1, with Matasi making a notable error during the game that led to a goal.
The allegations have since escalated online, with many Kenyans sharing more videos of Matasi at club level, conceding goals that are now being viewed as suspicious.
