Player accused of inserting fingers in opponent's anus under investigation

An official investigation has been launched in England after a player was accused of "inserting his fingers" inside an opponent's anus during a recent match.

An unnamed footballer is alleged to have put a finger, or multiple fingers, into an opposition player's bum during a Sunday League clash that took place in Nottinghamshire, England, on 8 January.

According to Nottinghamshire Live, a leaked message by the Nottinghamshire FA confirmed that the matter had been placed under investigation after they received reports about the incident.

"It has been reported to us that during a match between [home team] and [away team], a player allegedly inserted his finger(s) into an opposition player's anus," the leaked text read.

The messages also shows that the body's disciplinary committee are seeking witnesses who were at the game and have asked that a statement form be distributed to players, coaches, and supporters.

The organisation has requested that these forms be completed by today, Monday 23 January, while local police have said they were unaware of any reports pertaining to the matter.

While it remains unclear why the accused committed the act, cases of sexual assault are prohibited under the FA Rule E3: Improper Conduct in England.

Other incidents of this nature have occurred previously, with another non-league player having been handed a nine-game ban last year for grabbing two other players' testicles during a match.
