Rulani gets his wish with 'troublesome' star?

With reported tension between Rulani Mokwena and a Wydad Athletic Club player, it is the manager who seems to have won the battle.

Midfielder Nassim Chadli is on the verge of leaving the club, with UAE side Al Jazira emerging as his likely destination, according to SyndiGate

The 23-year-old is also claimed to have received interest from Saudi Arabia, but the Red Castle appears keen to cash in on him.

It has been suggested that Chadli has been frozen out of Mokwena's plans in recent matches, with the South African coach unhappy with the player's discipline and absence from training.

As a result, Mokwena has reportedly pushed for the club to offload the player, who only arrived at the club from French club Le Havre at the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

Sources within Wydad have revealed to Kooora that the relationship between Chadli and the club has deteriorated beyond repair, largely due to his tension with Mokwena.

It is understood that the coach informed the club's management that he would not be relying on the midfielder for the rest of the season and that they should consider offers to sell him.

Reports further indicate that the player will be departing the club, with the Moroccan outfit looking to either sell him or by terminating his contract by mutual consent.

As a sign of the ongoing dispute, Mokwena is thought to have excluded Chadli from the Red Castle's squad for their upcoming Botola Pro 1 clash against Hassania Agadir.

With Wydad seemingly hoping to profit from the midfielder's departure, any potential transfer will also see Le Havre benefit, as the French club is believed to be entitled to 20% of the sale.
