Scottland boss 'offers bigger bonuses' to Billiat & co

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns star Khama Billiat and his Scottland FC teammates have reportedly been assured of receiving increased rewards by the club's owner Pedzai "Scott" Sakupwanya.

In the lead-up to their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) clash with rivals Highlanders, Sakupwanya is said to have committed to Billiat and his teammates, guaranteeing them bonuses.

The Warriors played out to a 1-1 draw against iBosso at the Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday, a result that the club's owner had not anticipated.

"That one, we are winning, and I can give you the scoreline, We are definitely winning 4-0," Sakupwanya said before the game, per Bulawayo News24.

"Right now, we are not looking to be number one, number two, number three, or number four. We are looking at maybe number five. I said to my coach, 'I am happy if you are number five so that we can just understand the demands of the league.

"It's not about the fact that our team bought a lot of players, but the coach needs time to create combinations with the players that he has. It's a process.

"We are saying we are not looking to win the league title, but if we do, it's by God's grace."

Nevertheless, prior to the match, Bulawayo News24 had reported that Sakupwanya has raised his players' winning bonuses from the standard $500 (R9000) to $800 (R14 000) per player as a motivational strategy.
