Ngezana forced to 'chase down FCSB bus' after being left behind

In a bizarre twist of events, it is now reported that Siyabonga Ngezana had to run after the FCSB team bus on Thursday night after he was forgotten at the stadium following their 3-1 defeat to Olympique Lyon.

FCSB suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Lyon in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League round of 16 clash at the National Arena in Romania.

The South African star played the entire match and notably avoided a yellow card, which would have ruled him out of the second leg in France.

It is now said that something unusual happened to the Bafana Bafana defender after the match, as he was reportedly left behind at the stadium by the team bus.

According to Romanian outlet DigiSport, Ngezana ran after the bus as it was leaving the stadium without him and managed to catch up before it was too late.

Meanwhile, Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca admitted that his side's performance against FCSB was quite emotional after he was given a nine-month ban in Ligue 1 for aggressively confronting a match referee during a game against Brest.

"It was a very emotional moment having the support of all my players like that. That's the most important thing for me.

"It was a beautiful moment, a moment that shows that we are united… I remain calm, serene, because I feel the whole club behind me.

"I hope that the appeals will lead to justice. It's normal that I'm punished. But to have nine months of punishment for a situation which I immediately apologised for.

"There is a media circus that continues to say that I physically attacked the referee, when everyone can see that is not the case."
